In a shocking incident in Middletown Twp., Pennsylvania, a 32-year-old man named Justin Mohn faces charges of murder and abuse of a corpse. The grisly discovery was made when the victim’s wife returned home to find her husband beheaded and covered in blood. The crime involved not only the horrifying act itself but also the uploading of a video showcasing the gruesome event on YouTube.
Responding to reports around 7 p.m., officers found the victim, a man in his 60s, dead in an upstairs bathroom on Upper Orchard Drive. Mohn, identified as the victim’s son, fled the scene in his father’s vehicle. The YouTube video, which was eventually taken down, depicted the decapitation and garnered at least 5,000 views. In the video, Mohn identifies himself, claiming to have killed his father and making disturbing remarks about his father’s alleged betrayal as a federal employee.
The video also includes threats towards President Joe Biden and various federal agencies. Mohn, self-proclaimed militia leader, expressed controversial views while reading from a script. He was eventually apprehended in Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County, about 100 miles away, at the National Guard training base. Police tracked him through his cell phone.
Despite the unsettling nature of the incident, Middletown Township Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla assured the community that Mohn was in custody, bringing a sense of relief to the neighborhood. Mohn, arraigned early Wednesday, is held without bond and faces a preliminary hearing on February 8 at 9 a.m. The motive behind this gruesome act is still under investigation.
